Thanksgiving

We really missed everyone this Thanksgiving, I especially missed getting to go the farm and see everyone! Thanksgiving was good for us anyway, I made too much food, but it was fun nonetheless. I made a turkey, baked macaroni and cheese, sweet potato bake, squash casserole, and banana pudding. I wore myself out, but it was worth it, and Ryan enjoyed everything I made, so that was good! After dinner we went over to Thomas and Mallory's house and played some games with them, which is always fun.

Friday we drove into Minneapolis and looked around a little before going to the Mall of America. It wasn't as bad as we thought it was going to be, we got in easily and found a parking spot within five minutes! There were a lot of people inside, though. It was huge, as you might imagine. It was fun being there, the roller coasters and Lego Land in the middle were cool to check out. Ryan was very excited about the Legos.

The locals here say that this has been the warmest November they have had. Usually, they get about 18 inches of snow here by this time, but we haven't had any yet! It did get colder this weekend though, it's starting to stay in the upper-30's during the day, and the 20's at night.

We can't wait to come home on December 19th! It will get here soon!!

I know this post is overdue! Things are good here, Ryan is busy with his training, and I try to stay busy doing whatever I can! I am still searching for a job, but there are three that I applied to that I really want to get, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. One is for an assistant position in the high school media center, and the other two are office assistant positions at two different county offices. I really hope one of them comes through, the hours and benefits would be perfect!

Ryan is working very hard at his training. Almost every night he has a quiz to study for, and yesterday he had to do a presentation too. I try to help him study by quizzing him from his notes, but it doesn't always work out...Next week he has a midterm that will be very intensive, so I'll just try to stay out of his way when he's studying!

We have met some really nice people who are also here for Federated. Last Friday night we got together with three other couples for dinner, and then played a very heated game of Cranium. It was really fun, and we're all getting together again tonight. I'm supposed to make an appetizer to take over there, and I can't decide what to do. Any ideas?

Oh, and I just want to note that the Coke up here is not very good at all! It's very disappointing, especially for a Coke enthusiast like me. I really miss Willy's, La Parilla, Chik Fil-a...the list goes on. There is just not much up here at all. I guess the Atlanta area has really spoiled me...

Anyway, we miss everyone very much! I can't believe Christmas is next month already!
